Lewis & Clark Community College

Liberal Arts Division

The Liberal Arts Division encompasses programs in art, music, music preparatory, communications, history and political science, social sciences and philosophy.

The Illinois Transferable General Education Core Curriculum are Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI)-approved to transfer as general education core courses to any public and most private two- and four-year colleges in Illinois. In addition to IAI core courses, the college offers a variety of transfer electives.

These courses represent the five major fields commonly represented in general education programs - communications, mathematics, humanities and fine arts, physical and life sciences, and social and behavioral sciences. This is the part of an undergraduate education that develops breadth of knowledge and the expressive skills essential to more complex and in-depth learning throughout life.

Coordinators are available in each program division to assist students with any questions and concerns.
